Silvia The Artist

Silvia Soux was born in Argentina. She lived in many places, from sophisticated Buenos Aires to the jungle in Bolivia to the hills of Palos Verdes, California, where she is presently very active, not only as a painter but also as a volunteer and as the president of her artist group. She has been painting for 26 years. Her work has taken different directions, has evolved from traditional styles to abstract, and continues its evolution.

Silvia’s work is a symphony that reveals her abilities as an artist, her inner feelings and her dedication

to spiritual growth. Her latest series, Energies, consists of twenty two paintings that encourage us to see and feel the Universal Energies in their different manifestations.

In Silvia’s Visibilia, a critico-poetic essay that dialogues with her work, Professor Jose Sanjines from Coastal Carolina University attempts to reach the heart of Silivia’s haunting metaphoric process:

Writing About Metaphors, Pedro Cuperman chanced upon the work Visibilia. "I’ve used it to describe the art of Silvia Soux because it’s a work with a cadence that can encompass mystery, and mystery is at the heart of Silvia’s metaphors". In talking about abstract art, Maurice Merleau-Ponty has stated that, "we need our body to discern the unseen side of things. Silvia’s work reminds us that we can sometimes let the unseen side of things touch us".
